 Blended Web based Professional Truck Driver Training


Take your first step toward a lucrative career as a Professional Truck Driver.  Offered as an option to our regular on-site entry level training, our Web based curriculum Professional Truck Driver Training program is designed to provide you flexibility in training.

It is a simple two-phase process.  Phase-one, successfully complete the Web based curriculum portion of the Central Tech Professional Truck Driver Training program on the web.  Phase-two come onto campus for the behind-the-wheel experience necessary to complete your training.

This two-phase training experience is convenient, saves you money, and works with your schedule.  Phase-one, Web based training (WBT) allows you up to 8 weeks to complete the curriculum portion of training.  By making this academic section fit your schedule, you will have the ability to continue life as usual while learning information that will help you along your path to a new career.  For phase-two, you will come to our facility.  After you successfully complete a proctored test with a score sufficient to maintain your 80% academic average you will have 18 training days focused on developing driving skills.
 

Entrance Requirements

To participate in the Web Based Professional Truck Driver program be aware you must meet the following entrance requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Have a good driving record.
  • Have no alcohol/drug-related offenses within the past five years.
  • Have no felony convictions.
  • Meet minimum DOT physical requirements.
  • Complete a formal application


Web based Course Curriculum

The Tractor Trailer Driver Handbook/Workbook and Tractor Trailer Driver Web Based Training (WBT) bundle is the ideal driver training program. The handbook/workbook features color photographs and illustrations as well as technical content that stress the importance of developing the skills, traits, and behaviors that characterize true professionals. The WBT features animations and interactivity that promote a high level of retention. Use these products together for an optimized learning experience that addresses differing learning styles. Upon acceptance, students will receive the workbook as well as an access code to log into the WBT course from any web enabled computer. Using these products together ensures that the most qualified drivers are on the road and prepares you for behind-the-wheel training at our facility.
 

Phase-Two
Behind-the-wheel Training

After successfully completing the online training, maintaining an 80% average, you will be eligible for the Driving Experience.  You must:

  • Possess Oklahoma CDL permit
  • Pass proctored academic test with grade sufficient to maintain your 80% academic average
  • Have current DOT physical card


Driving skills

The Central Tech Truck Driver Training course utilizes range and road driving as well as practical application of skills used in highway driving.  Our eighteen-day program meets Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  You will have two night driving sessions.  You will have hands on experience: Coupling and uncoupling, various backing and docking maneuvers, Proper shifting techniques, Space and speed management, as well as all safety practices
